Nancy Garrison

Garden Consultant/Owner of All Things Edible, San Jose, CA

Designing Fruit Trees into the Garden

Nancy is a garden consultant (aka: garden coach), and pruner with her own business, All Things Edible. She provides site evaluation, teaches best gardening practices and helps homeowners select the best varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs and cut flowers based on 30 plus years gardening in Santa Clara Valley. She also prunes fruit trees or better yet, teaches individuals how to do it themself.

Nancy is a frequent presentator at local nurseries, UC Master Gardeners (she developed the Santa Clara County MG program), garden clubs, adult education and other community organizations. She writes a blog: ‘Nancy’s Urban Farm’.
She holds a BS degree in crop science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CA.

Nancy will illustrate ways to replace strictly ornamental bushes, trees and vines with edible, yet still ornamental fruit trees, bushes and vines. She will also weave in ways to grow a variety of flowering native or climate appropriate drought tolerant plants that provide pollen, nectar and/or habitat for local wildlife.
